A preliminary design is a detailed drawing of the bird’s eye view of a home. The design will include the data gathered at the survey and a proposed arrangement of solar panels on the roof. Preliminary designs are typically completed within 48 hours of the survey.
The preliminary design is a visual sales tool used to gain commitment from the homeowner in regards to the placement and number of panels, as well as the benefit of going solar. This is used in the Final Consultation, and the final packet design will be used for the Permitting Stage.
Once the survey data is uploaded by the surveyor, the preliminary design team receives the data and initiates the preliminary design.
