The fashion industry across the globe has been growing very fast since last couple of years. It has created large number of employment and entrepreneur opportunities as a designer, boutique, outlets, design schools and also expected to create more job opportunities in future.
Programme Objectives
Develop basic knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of fashion design;
Develop understanding of the fashion industry in India and across the globe;
Impart fundamental knowledge of textiles;
Impart skills in digital technology
Develop knowledge and understanding of pattern making skills and sewing techniques; and
Develop entrepreneurship and communication skills.
Duration of the Programme
Minimum : 6 Months - Maximum : 2 years
Eligibility
10+2 (Senior Secondary) passed out from any recognised board.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction of the programme is English.
Programme Fee
The fee for the entire programme is Rs. 5000/- (University may revise the fee time to time. Please check with the advertisement or IGNOU website).
Programme Structure
The Certificate in Fashion Design programme is a six months programme of 16 credits with 12 credits for theory and 4 credits for practical components. It comprises of 4 courses.
