The Programme explores the linkages between ‘population’ and ‘sustainable development’ in India focusing on the intersection of population issues with areas such as health, education, opportunities for livelihoods, environmental safety and sustainable development.
To introduce the contemporary issues in the field of population studies concerning the interrelationships between population and social and economic development.
To explore and gain insights into the appropriate strategic planning for population stabilisation.
To understand other thematic areas including environment, gender, reproductive health and other health issues, ageing and population displacement within broader perspective of population and development.
The medium of instruction of the programme is English.
Continuous Assessment in the form of Assignments.
Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized University are eligible to apply.
The minimum duration is 3 Months and the maximum duration for completion of the programme is 1 year.
Rs. 1000/- for full programme Plus Registration Fee & Development Fee as applicable. (University may revise the fee time to time. Please check with the advertisement or IGNOU website).
