Did you know that it was the 125th anniversary of our school district? Well… time goes by pretty fast! It is officially the 125th anniversary of Hewlett Woodmere Public School and many things are happening around the district! Our school has been up and running since 1898 and so were all the other schools in the districts. Some of them are Hewlett Elementary and Hewlett High School. They are all part of the HWPS district and they are all amazing schools for young adults and for young kids as well.
All students received a free t-shirt with the bulldog logo on it. They are/were encouraged to wear it on the 25th of each month that we are in school! Many students are excited to be a part of the celebration.
In addition, some teachers and even Dr Bauer are rewarding the 125th student that enters the school on the 25th each month. The teachers are also giving the students a reward for every class they are in. Physical education teacher, Mr Viggiano, is also giving the 125th student a very nice award as well so be sure to be the 125 person that comes into the school for a nice treat!
Lastly, on the 25th of every month that we are in school, the teachers and staff members bring in a special DJ system to play music that is very trendy in the cafeteria. Now the students can dance and have fun with their friends when they are done eating and have a very fun time with the DJ. Even if the 25th of the specific month is on a Saturday or a Sunday, the DJ would come in on the same Friday!
