The safety of our children at Dee Valley Federation of Schools is paramount. We take care to emphasise the importance of keeping safe. We have procedures in place. Details are in our Safeguarding Policy.
Children are taught about how to be safe online. This is evident through our E Safety policy and working with E Cadets and our Safeguarding Governor.
Visits from Community Police Officers help to emphasise these important messages.
Parking Outside School
Parking is limited outside all three schools. We want to make sure that our children arrive at and leave the schools safely. We also ask that parents support us in respecting the residents within our villages by not blocking driveways and parking safely so as not to cause any obstruction for emergency vehicles. Please adhere to the road markings outside each school.
Fire Drill
A fire drill, with full evacuation of the buildings is held at least once every term.
Security
The school is responsible for the safety and security of your child during school hours.
School security is in line with LA recommendations. Different security measures are in place at each school. Visitors to all schools are required to sign the visitors` book on entry to school.
If you intend to withdraw your child from school during school hours, e.g. to visit the dentist, please inform your child’s class teacher in advance.
At the end of the school day, children will only be released to a parent, or a known representative of the parent. Please let school know if someone different is to collect your child.
Where children are transported on the school bus, staff ensure they are seated safely. We require written consent from parents if they wish their child to walk home. Please see the arrangements for the start and end of the day.
