The assessment procedures at Dee Valley Federation are in line with the national requirements.
On entry assessments are made within the first 6 weeks of starting school in Nursery and Reception.
All children are assessed at the end of each phase/key stage in English (Language) and mathematics. At Foundation Phase they are also assessed in Personal and Social (Well-Being) and at Key Stage Two in Science and Welsh
Children within Years 2-6 complete statutory National Literacy and Numeracy tests. In the Federation these take place in May and early June. The literacy test has been designed to test the children’s reading capability and the numeracy test to look at the children’s procedural and reasoning skills.
In Foundation Phase and KS2 we use a wide range of assessment strategies.
