At Key Stage 4, pupils study a combination of core and optional subjects. The former include English and English Literature, Mathematics, Science (single award GCSE or BTEC Level 2), Welsh (full course GCSE), Information Technology, and the Welsh Baccalaureate (at Intermediate or Foundation level). 

In addition they are able to choose from carefully-structured groups of optional subjects (for example History, Geography, Art, Health and Social Care, etc) to ensure that they have a balanced curriculum and an appropriate learning pathway.
