Ty Dawel is our resource centre for learners with communication difficulties and neurodiversities such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Pupils may receive one to one or small group sessions in Ty Dawel to help develop:
Life Skills
Social Skills
Learning Skills
Individual coping strategies for school and life
Pupils are also able to use this centre at breaks and lunchtimes most days to join in small group sensory and social activities in a 'safe space'.
There are study areas for individual learners to use during timetabled sessions where it is identified that they work best outside of their main classroom; they would still attend their normal subjects but bring work from that lesson to complete with support from the centre staff.
Ty Dawel also houses a study centre for key stage 4 learners with additional learning needs, to support them with both their school work and with transition from school to college.
Ty Dawel Ambassadors - Our Ty Dawel Ambassadors meet every Friday to provide a calm and supportive space for pupils. Using peer mentoring, they help others build confidence, manage challenges, and develop positive strategies for wellbeing.
