How should I use this webpage?

Once the above is complete and we have received all of the free choice forms we will design and release our final 6th form option columns.  This date will be confirmed soon.

IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION

Welcome to the A level options page for the sixth form at Cynffig Comprehensive School.

Your first step will be to complete the ‘free choice’ survey.  In this survey you will indicate your preferred AS level courses and your responses will be used to create the final sixth form option columns.

Please note that the free choice survey is only an indication of your preferred choices at this point in time and subjects that are listed below

can be withdrawn  from the offer if too few students choose them.

We will make every attempt to provide students with the opportunity to study their 1st choice subjects, however, there may always be the possibility of clashes in the final option columns which will be released later in the spring term.  If this happens we will try to support your

choices by working in partnership with other schools.  Alternatively we will provide support to help you make different choices.

Use the videos, resources, and links on this webpage to find out about each of the courses on offer.  A number of sixth formers have taken the time to tell you about their subjects and next steps - it is important to listen to these too.

If you have questions that are not answered here, remember you can email the teacher for each course through Hwb and contact Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Padmore at PadmoreH@hwbcymru.net and Deputy Headteacher, N Morrison at morrisonn1@hwbcymru.net.

Make your own choice.

Don’t choose, or avoid choosing an option because you want to be taught by a specific teacher.

If you follow the advice above, and choose subjects that you are interested in, you will be fine – you are studying something your teacher is just as passionate about!
