SHINE
CAMHS SCHOOLS IN-REACH EMOTIONAL WELLBEING SERVICE
We are excited to be working collaboratively on an initiative with Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services steered by SHINE.
This service is provided by 3 mental health nurses with a plethora of diverse experience, along with a team of Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners who hold a varied mix of skills from working within schools.
OBJECTIVES
SHINE objectives are to work collaboratively with schools and other agencies to:
Support with early identification of emotional difficulties.
Promote emotional and mental health wellbeing.
Identify clear and effective pathways for accessing information for children, young people, staff and families.
Provide timely access to evidence based early interventions.
Aberdare Park Primary School will be working alongside the SHINE team to support them with their aims to:
Offer school based psychoeducation for children and young people, school staff and parents/carers
Increase confidence in promoting and addressing emotional health issues
Assist with identifying vulnerable groups or factors that may influence vulnerability of our children
Offer training for the staff to help build our confidence as trusted adults
Provide access for both individual and group based activities within school
Support our staff to discuss safeguarding issues
The SHINE team invite you to view the attached video which showcases the new and exciting Schools In Reach Emotional Wellbeing Service, known as SHINE. A practitioner will be based in our school once a week to support the emotional wellbeing needs of the school.
