This term Mrs Lewis is looking forward to teaching the children all about sea creatures. Our learning has an Expressive Arts focus so we will be developing the children's knowledge of living things and understanding of nautre and changes through art. We look forward to working with all our families.
This is an inquiry into:
Understanding beaches and the sea, in a local and global context to help understand human experiences and the natural world better;
Developing an understanding that things and places change over time;
Making sense of the world around them and nurturing their curiosity in understanding why places, landscapes and environments are changing;
Developing a curiosity about the diversity of living things in our world;
Recognising their responsibility to care for others and living things.
Learners will begin to ask and answer questions about different environments.
Learners will begin to show their commitment to the sustainability of the planet.
Learners will express their ideas when exploring the world around them using different media.
Learners are building their mental and emotional wellbeing by developing confidence.

Reading books must be returned to class on your child's reading day. Children will bring home a new reading book every week. Please read at home with your child everyday.
Our PE day is a Friday. Children should wear PE kits and trainers to school on Fridays.
Children can bring a fruit snack to school to eat at playtime. Children should also bring a water bottle to school daily. Please label fruit and water with child's name.
Home learning and class information will be shared via our class Seesaw page. Please ensure you are logged on for regular class updates.
We are learning to read and write using Jolly Phonics. Jolly Phonics uses the synthetic phonics method, which means that children are taught the letter sounds first, then are taught to blend sounds together to say / read / write words.
We use a variety of manipulatives for maths and problem solving in Cynhaeaf including Numicon, counters, pegs, objects and multilink.
