This term Mrs Lewis is looking forward to teaching the children all about changes. Our learning has a Science focus so we will be developing the children's knowledge of materials and understanding of changes. We look forward to working with all our families.
This is an inquiry into:
Recognising the properties of materials and how these can be mixed together to create something new;
Identifying changes in my daily life ie day and night, daily routines, weather, seasons;
Observing and describing how plants grow and what they need to grow;
Exploring how forces can lead to change.

Reading
Reading
Reading books must be returned to class on your child's reading day. Children will bring home a new reading book every week. Please read at home with your child everyday.
PE
PE
Our PE day is a Friday. Children should wear PE kits and trainers to school on Fridays.
Fruit snack
Fruit snack
Children can bring a fruit snack to school to eat at playtime. Children should also bring a water bottle to school daily. Please label fruit and water with child's name.

Home learning and class information will be shared via our class Seesaw page. Please ensure you are logged on for regular class updates.
Jolly Phonics
Jolly Phonics
We are learning to read and write using Jolly Phonics. Jolly Phonics uses the synthetic phonics method, which means that children are taught the letter sounds first, then are taught to blend sounds together to say / read / write words.
Numicon
Numicon
We use a variety of manipulatives for maths and problem solving in Cynhaeaf including Numicon, counters, pegs, objects and multilink.
