On behalf of the governors, staff and children, I take great pleasure in welcoming you and your family to our school website. It is the first step in forming that important link between home and school. The information it contains will enable us to work together in line with our school motto 'Every Child, Every Opportunity, Every Day' so that our children achieve their very best now and in the future.

We are extremely proud of our school, our pupils and the community that we are privileged to serve.

At Aberdare Park Primary School, we believe that every child deserves the very best education. We have high expectations for all our learners and are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to reach their full potential. Our aim is to provide the education they need today, while equipping them with the skills, confidence and resilience they will need to succeed tomorrow.

Our curriculum is rooted in the Four Purposes of the Curriculum for Wales, which guide everything we do. We strive to develop ambitious, capable learners who enjoy learning, think creatively and are ready for the next steps in their education. Through a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum, we encourage our pupils to be curious, resilient and ambitious, setting high standards and providing appropriate challenge in all areas of learning.

We also aim to nurture enterprising, creative contributors, giving our pupils opportunities to explore their interests, develop problem-solving skills and work collaboratively. We value creativity and encourage children to express themselves with confidence and imagination, both inside and outside the classroom.

At the heart of our school is a strong commitment to kindness, equality and wellbeing. We support our pupils to become ethical, informed citizens who respect themselves, others and the environment. Positive values, responsibility and respect are woven through school life, helping children to understand their role within the school and the wider community.

Above all, our pupils are at the centre of everything we do. We work together to ensure that all children feel happy, safe and supported, enabling them to grow into healthy, confident individuals who believe in themselves and their abilities. Positive behaviour is the expected norm, and all members of our school community are treated with respect, understanding and sensitivity.
