On behalf of the governors, staff and children, I take great pleasure in welcoming you and your family to our school website. It is the first step in forming that important link between home and school. The information it contains will enable us to work together in line with our school motto 'Every Child, Every Opportunity, Every Day' so that our children achieve their very best now and in the future.
I feel extremely honoured and privileged to lead and work here, and to continue to develop this fantastic school onto the next stage of its journey. I am a parent of two boys myself, and as a parent my goal has always been to ensure my children are happy in life and achieve their potential. This is the philosophy I bring to my role as Headteacher. My goal is to ensure all children who attend Aberdare Park Primary are happy and provided with all the necessary opportunities to be the best they can be both socially and academically; providing every child with every opportunity, everyday! At Aberdare Park Primary we have a hugely committed and talented staff team, and of course our wonderful children, who we are immensely proud of!
The needs of our children are always paramount in the life and decision making within the school. I strongly believe in providing our children with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences, which build their enthusiasm for learning and help them to grow and develop positively in a variety of ways. I think it is crucial to involve our children and their families as partners in their education. I am also keen on building a whole school community which thrives on mutual respect and values positive relationships. I know how vital working in partnership with parents really is in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. As key educators in your children’s lives, I feel that it is important that you have a voice and that as a school we are approachable and allocate time to listen to your concerns, worries or thoughts about our school.
Our school has approximately 260 pupils divided into three Progression Steps. The first of these is P1 comprising of Nursery and Reception. The second step is P2 and includes Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3. The third step is P3, which comprises of Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.
The school provides many excellent facilities including:
- a designated area of the school for our youngest learners, including it's own canopied play area and outdoor learning facilities
- 2 halls that are used for assemblies, some PE lessons and as dining rooms
- a P2 area which is located on the bottom levels, comprising of 4 classrooms and 3 additional learning areas, including a family room, library and The Hive (our Nurture and Intervention space)

Aberdare Park Primary School is a happy and caring school that takes great pride in educating children in such a way that they become self motivated in their own education. Our 'INSPIRE' curriculum offers our pupils rich and exciting learning opportunities and inspires them to do their very best. Every child is different and their individuality is valued, respected and celebrated in our school community. Staff are dedicated to providing the best education for all our pupils ensuring that each child receives a programme of teaching and learning experiences that addresses their individual needs.
As a school community we take great pride in educating children in an environment that is challenging, exciting, and purposeful and in which everyone experiences success. We expect children to make good educational progress and be proud of their own, and their schools’ achievements.
Home involvement is actively encouraged, as support from home is essential and complimentary to what we hope to achieve. We hope that by working together, our children will find themselves to be happy, fulfilled people, whose sense of wonder will stimulate the need to learn for many years to come.
