We aim to read with pupils most days. This ranges from 1:1 reading and Guided Group Reading on alternate weeks. Pupils will be assigned a new book every Friday to take home. This will only be issued if their book from the previous week is returned.
Dosbarth 5's PE day is currently every Wednesday. Pupils must come to school dressed in an appropriate PE kit that keeps the weather in mind! These sessions will take place outdoors if dry, so pupils must ensure they are wearing tracksuit bottoms/leggings and a jacket or hoodie. Pupils should also have a refillable water bottle with them in school.
Spellings lists and appropriate times tables will be set via Seesaw and Google Classroom every Friday afternoon. Pupils will be assessed on these weekly. If there is any focused homework, you will also find this on Seesaw and Google Classroom via the 'homework' tab. Please let the school know if you are in need of a device to borrow. Homework can be completed directly onto Seesaw, Google Classroom, or handwritten. Pupils must return their completed homework by the following Friday.
Handwriting
In class 5, we work really hard to improve our cursive handwriting. Click on the 'Teach Handwriting' picture to the left to see examples and tutorials of the cursive handwriting that we do at Aberdare Park Primary School. Any practise that you do at home will help support your child's presentation in school (plus we would love to see it so that we can celebrate their brilliant work!).
Learners build up a body of knowledge to communicate their ideas of living things effectively.
