The Open Education Center released the "Guide to Introducing Online Classes at Hokkaido University" on April 9, 2020. In conjunction with the guide, we opened an "inquiry form" and received many questions. The answers are posted in the guide as "FAQs" as needed. Still, this time we shared some of the most frequently asked questions, such as "How to guide classes for students who have not completed course registration," "Using Zoom's Manatme program," and "Webex account procedures.
In the beginning of the introduction of online classes, some students said that they had never used Moodle before because they had mainly used face-to-face classes, or that they did not feel they could use Moodle because of its complicated operations. The explanation of Moodle was given with demonstrations of the common operations of Moodle, from "how to log in" to "designing a group".
We received many questions in the chat, such as "How to use the breakout function in Webex," "How to confirm attendance in synchronous delivery classes," "How to do synchronous delivery classes in clinical practice," and so on. We have posted the answers in the FAQ, so please refer to them.
Thank you to the many people who participated today. I would also like to thank the teachers who responded to chat questions while participating.
Regarding the online class review meeting, we received a request from a participant to hold the meeting in a shorter period. Therefore, we will schedule the meeting on Mondays and Thursdays (12:15-13:00) in April.
