Abstract: In the martial arts field there was a gap of knowledge as to which specific Martial Arts/Combat Sports are most effective. The method used was a content analysis, where 50 Mens UFC title fights from the past 5 years were selected then 8 were chosen using a random number generator. The 5 most common martial arts were chosen and had the 2 most common moves from each selected to be measured. The data compiled consisted of the number attempted and landed of each move, which was then organized and analysed for patterns and different variables. The data showed while striking martial arts were the most attempted and landed in general, kicking martial arts were the least attempted and landed of such, while boxing was the most common. It was also found that grappling martial arts were the least attempted, but had the highest accuracy among winners and the lowest accuracy among losers. The implications of this study are that it will help fill the gap of knowledge in this discipline and also coaches and fighters to change their practice regimens to improve success.
