Abstract: This study explores the impact of AI-generated artwork on the perception of cultural art pieces and the emotional responses elicited from a culturally diverse audience when observing it. By showcasing both traditional and AI-generated examples of culturally significant art pieces within a digital survey, the researcher collected participant responses through quantitative analysis. After viewing each piece using a Likert Scale, the audience recorded the strength of their agreement with statements reflecting various emotional responses. Statistical analysis revealed notable differences in emotional intensity and type between AI-generated and traditional artworks. The perceived intention and experience associated with each piece significantly influenced the nature and strength of these responses. These findings ultimately combat the existing ideas that not only does human-generated artwork inherently produce more positive emotions within an audience, but it is generally preferred across the board. These findings contribute to understanding the evolving role of artificial intelligence in art and its implications for cultural expression and the emotional engagement it encourages.
