Located near Long Wharf, the Atlantic Rail line, and crisscrossed by street railways, our district was a hub for manufacturing, commerce, and shipping. Our district was home to a variety of commercial businesses including wholesale grocers, banking institutions, flour, grain, and soap manufacturers.
