The provost and senior vice president for academic affairs is the chief academic officer of the University. The Provost's Office carries out academic policies of the faculty and president, all in support of enhancing student success.
The provost is responsible for the smooth operation of the academic units of the University, including all the University’s schools and colleges (except for the Zucker School of Medicine, which reports directly to the President’s Office), as well as the libraries. The provost also chairs the University Senate, the University’s shared governance organization, with members representing the faculty, administration, staff, and students. The Office of the Provost has a team of administrators to support and engage students throughout their academic experience.
