Division Leaders

The division leaders create the infrastructure in schools that make the learning experience possible. Division leaders maximize learning by providing the necessary resources, designing curriculum materials, and setting procedures that maximize instruction. These leaders foster literacy by

• Creating a division-wide collaborative culture of literacy that encourages innovation

• Establishing Division goals for literacy and developing a plan to achieve the goals

• Locating and reviewing resources and materials for use in schools

• Providing funding for literacy initiatives and materials that support the Division’s literacy goals

• Being a visible presence in schools and actively supporting literacy goals

• Monitoring the effectiveness of literacy instruction by collecting and analyzing data

• Creating curricula that support the Division’s literacy goals

• Providing professional learning opportunities that support the implementation of the Division’s literacy goals

• Engaging in on-going professional learning that expands understanding of literacy instruction
