Instructional Frameworks

ELEMENTARY

• All K-5 Reading, Math and Science teachers are expected to adhere to an instructional framework on a daily basis.

• Science teachers follow the 5 E's lesson sequence and framework.

• Administration, Academic Coaches and Curriculum and Instruction will support teachers in the implementation of the frameworks and will monitor their consistent use in all buildings.  

• The frameworks reflect a structured approach to teaching reading, science and math; therefore, all parts should be included in each lesson.

• All parts of each framework must be implemented daily. 

• Lesson plans should also reflect all parts of each framework. 

• Training (introduction and/or refresher) on the Reading, Math and Science Frameworks should be conducted within the first 2 weeks of the school year by school personnel.
