Review Procedures:
The school testing coordinator must review standard testing procedures and the handling of DCAs/check-in materials with all staff before the first DCA/check-in.
Instructional purposes of DCAs/check-ins and ethical testing procedures should be discussed.
Teachers are required to sign a code of ethics for DCAs/check-ins after the training session.
Confidentiality:
DCAs/check-in materials must be kept confidential.
Teachers should not print, access on SchoolNet/NC Test, take, download, or save any part of the DCA/check-in before the scheduled date.
Testing Schedule:
DCAs/check-ins must be administered during the designated time frame set by the county.
Tests cannot be conducted outside the testing window specified on the Central Services Calendar.
Testing Plan:
The testing coordinator must complete and submit a testing plan to C&I at least one week prior to the Check-Ins.
Proctors are not required for NC Check-Ins.
Timing and Accommodations:
NC Check-Ins are untimed, but most students typically need about ninety minutes to complete a twenty-five item NC Check-In.
Accommodations as specified in IEPs, 504s, and EL plans should be followed for both DCAs and Check-Ins.
Benchmark Data:
Analyze benchmark data at the standard, student, class, subgroup, and grade levels.
Update smart goals, grade level action plans, and the School Improvement Plan (SIP) using the most recent check-in/DCA data.
