Anomalocaris lived near the sea floor. Above them were comb jellies, and below them were tasty snacks (Trilobites). During that time, Earth was more watery, and they lived in Canada and China. The oceans were around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, or 21 degrees Celsius. Most fossils of Anomalocaris come from the Burgess Shale, likely because they lived there mostly. Because many other creatures are fossilized at the Burgess Shale, it is entirely possible that they lived in other places, but only got fossilized in Canada.
