Holyoke Community College provides two wireless networks on campus. Choose the one that fits your situation.
HCC Wireless is for students, faculty and staff who have their HCC Account all set up.
HCC Wireless Guest is a no-login guest network that provides Internet access for guests and users new to the college. Some HCC resources are not available on the Guest network.
If you know your HCC Account username and password, connect to HCC Wireless
You are visiting campus
You are new to HCC and your account is not set up yet;
Once your account is set up, forget this network and connect to HCC Wireless
No login required
Internet access only
Some HCC resources will not work on this network
Open your device’s Wi‑Fi settings
Select HCC Wireless Guest
Wait for the Log In page and Accept the terms
You’ll be online right away, but with limited access.
Forget the HCC Wireless Guest network and try again.
Use HCC Wireless if you already have your HCC account set up and can sign in to HCC systems (email, myHCC, etc.).
Your HCC username and password
Full access to HCC systems and online resources
More secure connection
Best option for regular classwork and campus activities
Open your device’s Wi‑Fi settings
Select HCC Wireless
Sign in using your HCC username and password
You’re connected once authentication is complete.
Try your username with @hcc.edu
(example: jsmith123@hcc.edu)
If that does not work, try your username without @hcc.edu
(example: jsmith123)
Both formats are safe and expected depending on the device and operating system.
When prompted for network details, use the following settings:
EAP method: PEAP
Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA certificate: Do not check
(or select Use system certificates if required)
Domain: Leave blank
Identity / Username: Your full HCC username
Password: Your HCC password
Then select Connect.
Android devices are made by many different manufacturers (such as Samsung, Google, Motorola, and others). Because of this:
Wi‑Fi setting names and layout may look different from one device to another
Some options may appear under Advanced, Security, or Additional settings
The required settings are the same, but where you find them may vary
If you don’t see an option right away, look for Advanced or More options, or ask for help in person.
Wi‑Fi and cellular data are two different ways your device connects to the internet.
Wi‑Fi uses HCC’s on‑campus wireless network.
HCC has strong, reliable Wi‑Fi coverage across campus buildings
Works best for classes, studying, and accessing HCC systems
Does not depend on your mobile carrier
Can be used without a mobile carrier
Cellular data uses your phone carrier’s signal (Verizon, AT&T, T‑Mobile, etc.).
Cellular signal can be weak or unreliable inside buildings
Signal strength varies by carrier and location
Not controlled by HCC
For the best experience on campus, connect to HCC Wi‑Fi instead of relying on cellular data.
