Creating an object with a 3d printer
make them change colors
a maze
go under tables
go up a ramp
knock over markers
change colors at a certain distance
make them make animal noises
go under a homemade bridge
make it run through paint and make a piece of art
make a space model with moving planets
make mini bowling pins and knock them over
make a road
go down stairs
go under a chair
drive it down the hallway
code to drive around room
follow people
have a race with another Sphero
go over a rock
go on a bridge
back up
go forward
go left
go right
run into people
I am working in a group with Marcus and Mya
In order to do this project I will need an I-Pad and a Sphero
I plan on creating a
We will use our own design so that it will be different from other peoples.
This is the video of me driving the Sphero mini through the maze
Using a Sphero mini and tape, I created a maze that I drove the Sphero mini through because I knew that I wanted to drive a Sphero at least once during this semester . I decided to drive it through a maze because I had already driven a robot through a maze before so I thought I would make a better maze than before. I started the project by using a dash but I found out that they were very difficult to drive so I changed to a Sphero mini.
During this process, I learned how to use the different coding blocks. I found it difficult to do that because they were different from other coding blocks such as ones from Dash robots. I figured out how to do it by getting help from my team members
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because you have to design how the maze is going to look. I also think that this project ties to Empowered learner because you have to learn how to code the Sphero.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the code to work every time that I started over on the maze . I was able to do it by only using code for half of the maze and then driving it through the rest. I thought that this would be OK to do because Mr. Renner wold be able to see how I did at coding and how I did at driving.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the length of the maze. The reason why I would change it is because I would have liked to drive/ code the Sphero through a longer maze. I would also change the design of the maze because you could go straight through it without having to turn that much.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in game developing because of the coding experience
