Using a Tinkercad and a laser cutter, I created a sign with my name on it because needed a sign to go on my bedroom door. With Tinkercad I created the base of my sign so that it has something to put the cuts in. I also used google drawings so that I could add detail to my project.
During this process, I learned how to get the project design to Mr. Renner. I was able to figure this out by asking one of my classmates for help. I also learned how to create the design for the laser cutter because you can't make the whole thing on Tinkercad you have to go into google drawings and make the details for it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because you have to think of what you are going to make with the tools that you are given and then design it with Tinkercad.
A challenge I overcame on this project was picking the actual design . I was able to do it by highlighting a random thing on my list of 25 and creating it. Another challenge that I overcame on this project is figuring out how to send the finished design top Mr. Renner. I was able to do it by asking for help.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the design of my project. The reason why I would change it is because I felt rushed for time so I choose a quick and easy design so I could get it done in a small amount of time. I would also probably change the tool that I used because it was difficult to find things that you can create with a laser cutter.

My project connects to the CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in plasma cutting because you have to do pretty much the same exact thing just with plasma cutter instead.
