Creating a project using coding
On day 1 I coded music, a backdrop, and the sprite
This is my coding for the sprite
This is the coding for the backdrop
This is the coding for the music
These are my two backdrops
This is also some of my coding for the sprite
Using CSFirst and Scratch, I created a project describing my passion because I thought it would be fun. I was able to do it by watching instruction videos and using my past experience on scratch and with coding. I enjoyed this project because I was able to inform people about something that I was passionate about so really who wouldn't enjoy that.
During this process, I learned how to change the backdrop after a song is done. I also learned how to move a sprite across the screen and then move it back to its starting position. One last thing that I learned how to do is Add music to my project with out making another sprite visible.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because you have to think of what you are going to create then you have to design it then finally you have to create it. My project also ties to Empowered Learner because you have to learn how to do the different types of coding.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the sprite to move across the screen. I was able to do it by watching one of the add-on videos to figure it out. Another challenge I overcame was getting music to play without having another sprite. I was not able to add music with out another sprite but i did make the second sprite so small that you can barely see it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the sprite that I used. The reason why I would change it is because it didn't go with what I was talking about because they didn't have a cow as a option for the sprite. I would also change the music because I don't think that it very well with the farm type of theme.
