I couldn't find a laptop/desktop computer for the desk so I used a TV
Added furniture to the living room
Found a laptop to use as a computer instead of the TV
Added a second floor and put in a bathroom
Added a kitchen on the second floor and had to use blocks to make an island
Made a guest bedroom on the second floor of the house and used briefcases for suitcases
Made a kid bedroom with to beds so there can be two kids
Adding on a new master bedroom off of the bottom floor
Finished adding room added french doors to the room so they can get to the stairs easier
Added a dog on a track so it can run around
This is my video showing everything that I made and how it functions.
I have overcome problems with my VR world by rearranging and changing some things so that they will fit better and/or work better in the space that was provided and/or the space that I have made. Another problem that I overcame is the coding. I have never really been able to code but with the help of my classmates I was able to.
I have made a house with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a kitchen and a dining room along with a pantry. It has an upper floor that holds the bathroom, two bedrooms, the kitchen, an extra room, the dining room, and one living space. The downstairs hold the other living space and the "master" bedroom. On the outside of the house there is a set of stairs leading to the upper floor along with a barn and a garage with two cars.
I have learned how to make things move with code which I did not know how to do before. I have also learned how to make a VR world which I had no idea how to do at all before this class. I have learned how to use the snipping tool which I didn't even know existed.
One of the MITECS standards that this project is tied to is Innovative Designer. I know this because it uses graphic design which is one of the ways that you use design thinking. Another standard that this project is tied to is Empowered Learner. I know this because you have to be motivated to actually work hard and do a good job at the coding and the placement of things in your world.
A challenge that I overcame was the coding. I am not very good at coding but I think that I did a good job with the help of my classmates walking me through it. Another challenge that I over came was being able to find things to put in the rooms that I made. One last thing that I overcame was adding the pictures to my website because at first I could not figure out how to do that.
If I had more time I would like to change the environment so it is in a field so that it can be lighter. I would also like to add more people since I only got to add one. One final thing that I would like to change is the amount of rooms. I would like to add a few more rooms and add some more detail in the ones that I already have.
This project connects to careers in software engineering because using the coding skills that you have to have to make a VR world you can engineer things using the coding skills that you have used. This project also connects to some things from the CTE program at the High School such as computer programming because you have to be able to use code in order to program a computer .Another thing that this project is connected to is engineering and design because you have to choose what your VR world is going to be.
