1. Empowered Learner
Being an empowered learner means you can set your own learning goals and be able to have an active role in choosing, achieving, and demonstrating knowledge in your goals that you have set. Being an empowered learner also means you are able to reflect on whether or not you met or achieved your learning goal. Your learning goal is set by you. What is success to you? To be an empowered learner also means you have to understand technology and be able to demonstrate, use and fine-tune current technology and with that knowledge you are to transfer what you know to explore upcoming technology.
2. Digital Citizen
Being a digital citizen means you are able to manage your digital identity and reputation online. Which means you know that once you post something on the internet it is permanent and cannot be deleted. You are responsible and are able to choose what to share on social media platforms and know that everything you post creates your digital reputation.Â
3. Knowledge Constructor
Being a knowledge constructor means you have digital tools and are able to find information with your computer or other devices. You also need to be able to fact check it with other websites to find if it is accurate or not. You need to make sure that you know how to find your information and are able to cite it too.
4. Innovative Designer
Being an innovative designer means you are able to use technology to communicate with other people to help you identify and understand a global topic. You can also use technology to learn about the global topic but you need to be able to ask questions about the topic. Being an innovative designer also means you are able to work with open ended problems.
5. Computational Thinker
Being able to use technology to solve a problem is being a computational thinker. You need to be able to make a plan to solve whatever problem you are working with. You also need to be able to identify information that is important in your problem to help find a solution.
6. Creative Communicator
You need to be able to find which digital tool would work best for a group project. Some things such as google slides might be better for a presentation style group project while a google docs might be better for a book report.
7. Global Collaborator
You are able to open up your perspective on certain things by looking at other people's opinions online or by collaborating with people. You might be doing a project about California droughts and you might be able to collaborate with someone online that lives in California and has been through a drought.
