Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I will be working with a partner
What materials will you need for your project?
The Circuit Playground, the Circuit Playground website, alligator clips
What is your plan to create in this project?
To make multiple different projects
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will be made by me
Today I followed a tutorial and made a loudness detector. I also learned how to to make the circuit playground work.
I followed another tutorial and made a siren today along with another thing that ended up not working the way I wanted to.
Today I followed a tutorial to try to make a heart monitor and it ended up not working at all and it took the whole class.
Today I made a fire fly light thing and when you cover it it makes a noise.
Today I made a button clicker and a remote led. I also updated my website.
Today I made a magic wand and I thought it sounded kind of cool
Today I made a random code that was supposed to work with another Circuit Playground but it ended up not working.
Using Adafruit Circuit Playground, I created multiple different projects because I was able to go through he projects quickly. I was able to try different ways of coding too. I was able to write my code and use the code blocks too.
During this process, I learned that writing a code is very different than using the code blocks. I was attempting to make a heart monitor and the tutorial I found was writing a code and not using the code blocks. I wasn't able to create the heart monitors because there was something wrong with my code and all the other codes that I could of used to make a heart monitor required something else that I did not have.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I followed tutorials to create most of my projects. I followed article tutorials and then the tutorials right on the website.
A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to upload my code onto the Circuit Playground. I was able to do it by unplugging the Circuit Playground and then hitting the reset button twice to get it into the coding mode.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my knowledge on what I know when it comes to codding. The reason why I would change it is because I would have been able to create more things if I knew a little more when it came to codding. I wish I was also a little more creative because I usually need to be told what to do to create something.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in stop light sign programing because the people who program stop light signs need to code different things so the lights go off at the right time. There are other jobs that involve programing but this was the first one that came to mind. People code many different things in life.,
