Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working with Kylee and Annelise.
What materials will you need for your project?
Cardboard, construction paper, iPad, hot glue, cardboard scissors, markers, duck tape, cardboard saw.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My groups first plan was to make a pizza planet crock, but that ended up failing. Our backup plan was to make a pizza planet oven with pizza and other accessories.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be completely handmade with other things that are usually found in a pizza place.
Brainstormed ideas and talked to Kylee and Annelise about what we wanted to make.
Today we started to build and mold the shape of our crock
Today we realized that our original project was not going to work so we switched to a pizza oven.
We made the base of the oven and worked on the paddle and pizza
Added a door and handle to only the bottom part with a small window so you can see what will soon be the fire. Made pieces of coal to add to a glove box to look like the fire.
Put on cardboard paper on the pop tart boxes and finished up the main pizza along with using sharpie to outline the words on the door.
Today we made extra pizzas for fun and made a container for pizza sauce, ranch, and red pepper flakes. We made a shelf and added the colored paper to look like fire along with making a pizza cutter.
Started working on the video and added the finishing touchs on the pizza oven
Finished the video and working on reflection.
Using cardboard, duck tape, hot glue, and construction paper, I created a Pizza Planet pizza oven because we wanted to so something pizza planet themed and we decided we wanted to do a pizza oven. At first we wanted to make a pizza planet crock, but that ended up not working because of the shape and we were having a hard time cutting holes into the cardboard. It was Kylee's idea for the pizza oven, but we all wanted to do something Pizza Planet themed.
During this process, I learned how to make something with only cardboard scraps and things we were provided with to make whatever our hearts desired. I also learned how to make do with 3 different people's ideas to make one final project. One thing that we argued on was putting a door on to the pizza oven, we ended up putting the a door on and we all ended up liking it in the end.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Leaner because we set our own goal to make our project and we were able to achieve our goal of building a pizza oven. We also were empowered leaners because we were able to make the decision to change from a crock to a pizza planet.
A challenge I overcame on this project was cutting cardboard. I was able to do it by using the carboard scissors that we were provided to cut the cardboard. The cardboard scissors were something that made the project a lot easier to do and if we didn't have them, our project would of took longer and it would also not look the same./
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the detail. The reason why I would change it is because I would want the project to look as nice as possible. I would want to be able to actually color the cardboard and not have it look super sloppy and not put together. I personally don't like the look of the duck tape so I would manly change that.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in Architectural technician because architectural technicians take an idea, collect and organize the data and they create construction plans to prepare the final project. There is so many things you can create as a architectural technician. Their annual salary is 95,003 and their weekly salary is up to 1,826.
