8P4 - Reverse Engineering

Using the HP elite desk, screwdrivers, I was able to take it apart. I did this because I wanted to learn about the parts of it. I was also able to see how everything is connected to each other.

During this process, I learned about each part of a HP Elite desk. I learned where each part was. I also learned the function of the parts. 

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner. It ties to this because I had an active role in choosing my goal and achieving it.

A challenge I overcame on this project was removing the motherboard. I was able to do it by using a different kind of screw driver and taking my time. It also helped to remove anything attached to the motherboard.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the item I reverse engineered. The reason why I would change it is because I would like to take apart something and be able to build something else with it. I also think it would be really cool if one day I was able to take apart a car engine because I have always been interested in cars.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. It ties to this because the engineers have to take things apart sometimes to figure out more about them.

My project connects to careers in Tear down Technicians.  They work by disassembling things and assessing the damage and if it needs to be fixed or replaced. They usually work in automotive repair.
