8P5 - Programable

Using the circuit play ground and the circuit playground website, I created different codes that can be displayed on the circuit playground. I did this because I wanted to improve my coding skills. 

During this process, I learned to read piano cords. I learned this so I could attempt to play music off the device. I was able to make the song My Favorite Things.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner. It ties to this because I had an active role in choosing what I wanted to make and achieving it.

A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to get my circuit playground to connect. I wasn't ever able to get it to connect. I tried to do this by switching out the circuit playground and having other people looking at it. I few other students were having some of the same issues as me. 

Given a chance to do this again, I would change my ability to be creative. The reason why I would change it is because I prefer to follow directions and sometimes can have a hard time coming up with ideas and making them come to life. If I was able to have more creativity I think it would be easier for me to come up with project ideas.  

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the computer programing CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects to this CTE because we had to program the circuit playground.

My project connects to careers in software developing. It connects to this because they have to code and program the website. They also have to figure out what they need to be coding before they start coding.
