8p3 upcycling project

Using hot glue, a computer monitor, and some tools I created a Chromebook out of the monitor because I didn't know what else to do and I thought it would be fun if I made that. I also couldn't use my materials to make anything and making a Chromebook worked out well. I worked for about 2 hours on this I didn't put too much effort into it.

During this process, I learned how to rip and split apart a monitor ruthlessly. Another thing I learned is that the hot glue is indeed hot. I also learned that the parts in the monitor are EXTREMELY fragile.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to a global collaborator because I am putting out a website that anyone can view. Another reason that I am a global collaborator is because people can see what I have managed to build without being blocked out.

A challenge I overcame on this project was taking apart the monitor. I was able to do it by unscrewing screws and other things and then prying the annoying thing off the monitor. Another way I overcame it was by using different tools to get the computer monitor apart. I also managed to break it apart by splitting the monitors back off.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the materials I used to make the Chromebook. I would change it because most of the pieces were kinda miss matched and out of place. Another reason I'd change this is because I kinda made the thing sloppily and it looks fairly trashy.

 Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in engineering because I made my designs. Another reason why is that I analyzed my data and adjusted accordingly. I also connect to this because I solved any problem while creating it though granted I couldn't fix all of my issues which made me a bit sad.
