Are you working by yourself or in a team?
alone
What materials will you need for your project?
the circuit playground express, iPad, and adafruit
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to make something good, like a rainbow color wheel that has a random chance to get a color
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be made my me and will have my barely working, very janky code
I made some codes and tested some things.
made a basic flashbang
edited some code and made a few new things.
deleted some code but its otherwise the same
added a clear button because otherwise you would just be stuck getting blinded
finished up on my website and did my 3 sentences thingy
Using the computer, the Adafruit site, and the Circuit Playground Express, I created a bunch of bright lights depending on what you do to the device, basically a multistage flashbang because I want those who experience my device to experience agony. Also because I thought it would be funny.
During this process, I learned how to properly code certain things so I can blind people. Another thing I learned is how to use the sound on the circuit playground express to make some fun things. The last thing I learned is how to use certain codes to adjust what I made in timing.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because I put something on my website for the world to see. Another reason why is that when people view my site they won't be blocked out and will be able to see everything.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to make my stuff work as my code is very janky. I was able to do it by testing out certain strands of code to see what worked and what broke it. I also managed to figure out how to make multiple things happen at once.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what colors I used for my thingy. The reason why I would change it is because a lot of them weren't blinding enough. Another thing I would change is how much per strand there is.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in communication coordination because I used lights to "communicate" with others. Another reason is that I used technology to make something that could communicate with other people. I'd say that another reason is that the display on the express can be used to show feeling and other things which is exactly what a communication coordinator needs to do.
