I am working by myself on this project.
I will need a computer, micro:bit, and an iPod.
I plan to create a message on the micro:bit.
My project has the unique quality of displaying a message in a creative way.
Using micro:bits, I created three separate videos with different messages because it is a fun way to display words on the micro:bit rather than on paper. The first message says "I Like Ike." The second message contains a checkmark. The third messages says It's the economy, stupid.
During this process, I learned how to put strings of words into a message. The last time I did this I made individual boxes for each letter. This time I changed it and added all the words in a single strand.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because I am sharing my work to the world.
A challenge I overcame on this project was uploading the videos and images onto Google Drive. I was able to do it by deleting them from Google drive and reuploading them . This worked and I had no more problems.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the coding. The reason why I would change it is because I would add a loop. A loop allows the message to be displayed over and over again without manually pressing the buttons.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in programming and computer design.
I formated my website and started my Planning Questions.
I created the string of words and finished my daily log.
I finished all three messages and displayed them on the computer and micro:bit.
This is an image of the coding involved.
This is a picture of the micro:bit on the computer.
