I am working by myself on this project.
I will need tinkercad, an iPod, iMovie, and a computer.
I plan to create a keychain of the U.S. flag.
My project is unique because it is a decorative keychain that could fit on any wall or drawer.
Using tinkercad, I created a keychain of the U.S. flag because it is a symbol of patriotism. It has 25 stars and 13 stripes. The stripes are correctly placed with red on the bottom and top.
During this process, I learned how to copy shapes in tinkercad. I also learned how to export the finished product as an .STL and print it. In order to print it in the correct size I also needed to change the size of the grid.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I built on my previous knowledge of tinkercad. I also learned how to better use the tools on the website.
A challenge I overcame on this project was choosing the correct thickness. I was able to do it by changing the thickness of all three layers to be slightly different. This way, the printer would print the proper red. white, and blue colors.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the stars. The reason why I would change it is because the U.S. flag has 50 stars and mine has 25. I would need to make the stars extremely small but it would be more accurate.

My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in engineering, and 3d designing.
