8PII - Merge Cube

Reflection:

• Using CoSpaces, I created a Merge Cube display of the Solar System because I have an interest in maps and I thought this would be something I could display nicely. I started by adding the plants. Then I added the details like the Asteroid Belt, the Moon, and the rocket ship.

• During this process, I learned how to add objects onto my merge cube. I also learned how to change the object's colors, their size, and location. On top of this I learned how to adjust the environmental settings.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I had to learn and use technology to build my display. I made decisions about my project using the things I've learned.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was finding an object/objects that would properly fit on the cube. I was able to do it by using planets which are relativity easy to adjust and place on the cube. Since they levitate they don't need to perfectly fit in.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the background color. The reason why I would change it is because it would like better with a black background mixed with stars/galaxies. It would add more detail and realism to the project.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in astronomy, physics, and science.
