8PIII - Virtual Reality

Reflection:

• Using CoSpaces, I created a simulation of the 1969 Moon Landing because it is a historical event I am interested in and want to learn more about. I added a rocket ship and two astronauts. They also built a space station there

• During this process, I learned how to make objects and people have actions in CoSpaces. I implemented this into the final project using CoBlocks. I made the astronauts celebrate and the rocket ship door open.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I problem solved and learned using the technology. I used the technology to learn how to animate and solve my details/space problem.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was having an empty scene. I was able to do it by adding the space station to the landing area. I also added an antenna for extra detail.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the background effect. The reason why I would change it is because the bubbles in the background are not realistic for space. I added them to look like stars but they do not look like them.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in game design and game testing.
