8p8- Stop Motion

My Reflection: 

• During my project, I used a few different objects to bring everything together. One of the most important tools was an iPad, which I used to take over 1,000 photos. I also used LEGO pieces to create the scenes for my stop‑motion film. By taking pictures of each small movement, I was able to bring the LEGO figures to life. Using all these tools helped me challenge myself and see how good I could be at making a stop‑motion movie. 

• I learned a lot while working on my project. One important skill I picked up was how to transfer my movie into iMovie. After importing it, I discovered that I could split the video into separate clips, which made editing much easier. Breaking it into smaller sections helped me improve the flow and overall quality of the movie. It was a great learning experience that made the whole project more enjoyable. 

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects to Digital Multimedia because I used different types of digital tools to create it. I relied on technology to take photos, organize them, and bring everything together. After capturing all my pictures, I transferred them to my device and edited them to make the final movie look polished. Overall, the project helped me practice important digital skills while creating something I’m proud of. 

• When I finally got my video to transfer into iMovie, I had to overcome one major challenge. The biggest issue was the iPad constantly saying the storage was full. I solved this by deleting a few unnecessary files to free up space. I also lowered the camera quality slightly so the video could upload to Google Drive without any problems. Once I fixed those issues, the transfer worked smoothly and I could continue editing my project. 

• If I could change anything about my project, I would definitely improve the video editing. I feel like the editing could have been smoother and more polished. I know I’m capable of making the final product look even better than it does now. With more time and practice, I could enhance the transitions and overall flow. It’s something I’d love to improve if I ever redo this project. 

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects most closely to the Digital Multimedia pathway. I used technology, creativity, and digital tools to plan, film, and edit my stop‑motion movie. The process helped me practice skills that are important in multimedia work, like visual storytelling and digital editing. Overall, it showed me what it’s like to work in a digital media‑focused career. 

• Throughout the world, there are many careers that involve stop‑motion animation. One job that connects perfectly to my project is becoming a stop‑motion animator. I chose this career because it involves creating stories through photos, just like I did in my project. Stop‑motion animators bring objects to life by moving them little by little and capturing each frame. This job matches my interests and shows how my project relates to real‑world creative careers.
