Day 1: Today I made my 8p3 page on my website and started to make my list of 10 and planning questions.
Day 2: Today I finished my list of 10 and planning questions, I also started to work on my Micro:Bit project.
Day 3: Today I finished my first gamed and started to make another game.
Day 4: Today I made my video for my final project of Micro:Bit.
Day 5: Snow Day.
Day 6: Today I worked on my reflection and finished my reflection.
This is my Final Product:
My Reflection:
Using Micro:Bit.edu, and the microbit, I created a game called Crashy Bird because I thought it would be really cool and I wanted to be able to play it on the Micro:Bit. I also created this game because I wanted to see how much coding I can do to make this game. Another reason I created this game is because I thought it would be a good game to code just for this project.
During this process, I learned how to make a game called Crashy Bird. Another thing I learned during this process is that I learned how to make the dot move up and down. Furthermore, I learned how to make objects move left so I can make the dot go through the open areas. Finally, I learned how to code the micro bit to show what the score is after you crash in the game.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I got to improve my learning outcomes. Another reason it connects to Empowered learner is because I understanded the fundamental concepts for the technology operations.
A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to make sure I did the right coding to make sure if it was able to run/work. I was able to do it by using more of my free time to make sure I did the right coding and made sure it was able to run on the micro:Bit. Another challegnge I overcame was figuring out what I wanted to code. I was able to do it by thinking if I wanted to code a game that I think would be really cool.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what game I would code. The reason why I would change it is because I think there is a lot more games out there that I can code and never heard of before. Another reason I would change this is because I think it would be even cooler to code a game that I have never doded before. And finally, I would change this because I can be able to make new codes that I have never done before.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects because I programmed the Micro:Bit on the computer.
My project connects to careers in software engineering because I can develop games, and I can even design games that I think would be cool. It also connects to Software engineering because I get to operate systems, and I even get to control network systems. Finally, I also can control middleware and I get to talk about business applications.
