Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Drone, Dronecode, and the computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
Make the drone do flips and make it do obstacles.
What unique qualities will your project have?
Make the drone be able to multiple flips and do many more stuff.
Day 1: Today I made my 8p2 page on my website and I made my list of 10.
Day 2: Today I started to watch a couple of tutorials of how t o code the drones.
Day 3: Today I started to code the drones and ran it and made it do multiple back flips.
Day 4: Today I worked more on my coding for my drone code project. I added more codes to make it do more flips and make it change colors.
Day 5: Today I added more things to my drone code project. I made it do 1 more flip and made it hover for even longer.
Day 6: Today I made my final project video and imported it onto my website. I also added my student reflection onto my website.
Day 7: Today I finished my stuednt reflection.
This is my final project:
My Reflection:
Using CodeDrone.edu, I created a code for the drone to execute because my friend and I were having a competition of who will have better tricks, etc. For my project I created a code that makes the drone do multiple flips and make it move forward, backwards, and make it look side to side. I ended up winning the competition because I had the best/coolest coding for the drone code project.
During this process, I learned how to make the drone do multiple flips and make the drone look side to side and make it move forwards and backwards. Secondly, I also learned how to connect the controller up to my computer. Furthermore, I also learned how to connect the drone up to the controller. And finally, I also learned how to set the drone height to what I want it to be.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because my video is on a website so anyone in the world can see it. Another reason it ties to this because I used digital equipment to make the drone do flips, make it move side to side, and make it look side to side.
A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to make sure the batteries had enough charge so I can be able to do my full code during my project video. I was able to do it by making sure the batteries were on the chargers and make sure they were plugged in properly. Finally, I had to make sure there were as many batteries on the chargers as possible because just in case if one was dead from somebody else using it in another class.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way my coding is. The reason why I would change it is because I think it would be even cooler to see the drone do more tricks and make it do more than what I have done. Finally, I would also change the background in my video because there is kind of a glare in the background, but I think I can make it be a way better video after all.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. This connects because I used a computer to code the drone and used digital tools to make it do tricks.
My project connects to careers in Drone Piloting because you can code drones to do multiple things and even make the drones do many tricks. Secondly, Drone Piloting employees design and execute flight patterns for various reasons. And Finally, they also work in filming and other commercial uses.
