Thanks so much for helping our art classes today! Today, our students will be making an artwork all about our current season SPRING!
Students are allowed to pick their seat in art during the 4th Marking Period, however they know that if they make a poor choice that the teacher can change their choice, and move them to a different seat/table where they will have a successful art special.
The students will be using pencils and erasers (in the turquoise pencil box, on the black countertop) to follow along with the video tutorial and/or teacher led demonstration (whichever you prefer doing!) to draw their lady bug and flower artwork, on their 9x12 white paper (from package on the black countertop
Feel free to play and pause
the video while the students draw, to create their artworks.
**I think the beginning is just an accelerated preview- make sure the video is showing the real time drawing process before beginning the artwork and pausing along the way to allow students to catch up
OR use this simple step by step guide below
to draw along with them, using the brite links pen (in container on the board) for the smart board to draw.

Once the students have finished drawing their artworks in pencil, have them retrieve permanent black sharpie markers from the black supply countertop (near pencil box) to trace all of their pencil lines. If they want to fill their lady bug head/spots in with the sharpie/black markers they can.
*You can call students by table color or individual tables, to return and retrieve supplies.*

Have students begin to use crayons to fill in their artworks. Crayons are in the yellow bin, each table will get a green box of crayons.
They can blend multiple colors together to achieve unique sky colors (blues and soft purples)
or create fun and bold patterns in their flower petals!
*The entire artwork should be filled with some types of color! I usually tell them the only white areas should be the clouds*
**Once students are finished, feel free to have them choose a coloring page from the silver shelving next to the supplies on the black countertop.

-Crayons get straightened up in boxes and boxes are returned to yellow bin for next class
-Artworks and Coloring Pages can go home with students.
