Our very first introduction to art is a WONDERFUL learning activity for our kindergarten students as they begin their journey as Artists!
"The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds is a lovely short story that promotes an essential GROWTH MINDSET for our ECEC Artists. Before we begin diving into the Elements of Art, our students will be focusing on how best to approach the creating process hands on!

OBJECTIVE:
Each student will follow along with guided instructions to create and complete their own unique and individual Scribble Monsters, to work on craftsmanship, using multiple media that allow for student choice, according to the accompanying rubric.
A look at the Elements of Art: COLOR, LINES, and SHAPE!
OBJECTIVE:
Each student will follow along with guided instructions/gif tutorial to create and complete their own Rainbow Fish artwork using all of the Rainbow Colors, incorporating and practicing their lines and shapes to create a Seascape environment just like in the story: Rainbow Fish, using multiple media that allow for student choice, according to the accompanying rubric.

A look into Line and Size

Each student will follow along with guided instruction to create and complete their own Chicka Chicka Boom! artwork using LINES to create and practice their alphabet -incorporating colors as well, using multiple media that allow for student choice, according to the accompanying rubric.

A look at the element of art: Color, studying pattern and Japanese artist: Yayoi Kusama

Each student will follow along with guided instructions/video tutorial to create and complete their own seasonally inspired Pumpkin artwork in the style of Yayoi Kusama -incorporating lines, pattern , shapes, and colors, using multiple media that allow for student choice, according to the accompanying rubric.
