OBJECTIVE:
Each student will follow along with the video tutorials to create a Gum Ball Machine artwork the explores Primary and Secondary Colors, inspired by Wayne Thiebaud, using multiple media that allow for student choice, according to the accompanying rubric.
For this lesson, we will be focusing on the
Element of Art: C O L O R
through this lesson we will be
mastering our ability to identify and incorporate
Primary and Secondary Colors
Red, Blue, Yellow & Orange, Green, Purple
Wayne Thiebaud is an American painter best known for his colorful artworks depicting commonplace objects—pies, lipsticks, paint cans, ice cream cones, pastries, etc.
For his paintings, he uses Vibrant and Bold
Our beginner's color wheel holds the
same 6 colors as the Rainbow!
But these Colors actually make up two different groups:
PRIMARY COLORS
and
SECONDARY COLORS
