Frederick Post Versatrig 1450 & 1451

The Versatrig family was manufactured in Japan by the Company HEMMI Bamboo Slide Rule Company Ltd., and commercialized in the United States by Frederick Post Company from 1951 to 1971 the 1450 model, and from 1957 to 1971 the 1451 pocket model. This rule was fabricated from a large-diameter variety of bamboo grown in Kagoshima Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, coated on all sides (except the ends) with white celluloid, and held together with metal posts. The glass indicator has a metal frame screwed to plastic ends.

Unlike the Versalog models, no Hemmi equivalent models exists for the 1450 or 1451. Described as an Advanced 17-scale Trig-Type Rule, the Versatrig is considered the little brother of the Versalog models, because it has the same scales except for the 8 Log-Log scales. The Versatrig has the scales L, A [ T T, SecT ST, Cos S, C ] D, DI on the front face, and the scales K, DF [ CF, CIF, CI, C ] D, R1, R2 on the back face.

This model was also commercialized in Canada under the brand Huges-Howens model 34-3120 Versatrig. Frederick Post Co, began to commercialize the Sun Hemmi rules in 1931. There was a break during the WWII years with Japan.
