Dear Global Jaya Community,
January and February ushered in a slew of MYP events. We are grateful to our parent community for all their support with MYP Personal Project, Service as Action, and Year 10 DP course selection. Here is a brief wrap up:
Year 10:
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any bigger or better, year 10 showed off their best with the MYP Personal Project Exhibition. A huge thank you to our parent community and Ibu Popy, the MYP Personal Project Coordinator, Ibu Christine, Ibu Aprinda, and all the GJS PP supervisors for making it all happen.
Course selections for the DP are underway. Make sure your student has had their meeting with Bu D or Ibu Sheila to select their courses for year 11.
Next up will be the eAssessments mocks March 4-6 and the ePortfolios due on April 17th. Please click here for the calendar of due dates. If you were unable to attend the parent session on 17th, please click here for the slides. After eAssessments in May, students will start their university counselling sessions. Year 9:
Students will begin their mini personal project in the next few weeks. This will help them be more prepared for the personal project next year. Students will work in groups of 4 to create a learning goal, product goal, and apply ATL skills. More details will be shared.
University sessions have started with our amazing university counselling team. Year 9 students learned how to begin tracking their ASAs, sports, service, and other activities in preparation for university applications. Years 8 and 9:
Elective course offering session for parents will take place on February 20th from 8am to 9am in the MPR3. Come find out about our Arts, Design, and Modern Foreign Languages offerings for 2025-2026.
All MYP Students:
Service as Action is one of the integral parts of being a MYP student. Not only does is help our students develop their learner profile attributes and leadership skills, but it also helps them to become good stewards of their community. On January 30th, last year’s IB Global Youth Action Fund award winners presented their tips for application and ways to get involved. Also, we were pleased to have 2 guest speakers from Habitat for Humanity and Cerita Alam Nusantara present other student service opportunities. Please click here for the presentation.
