On the 17th of January 2025, we have the honour of hosting visitors from Universitas Terbuka (UT). The visitors are the lecturers and the students who are currently studying in Program Pendidikan Guru (PPG) which prepares them to be primary and Secondary science teachers. During their visit, they listened to the presentation from our pedagogical leadership team to learn about our school and its international education program. We are very proud that they chose Global Jaya School as a place for them to learn about international education and to be part of their exciting learning journey. This is evidence of our commitment to contributing to the educational communities in Indonesia. We received very positive comments about the visit, below are some of them:
“There were many things I could learn as a prospective teacher during yesterday's visit. While touring the school environment, I observed several practices that reflected the implementation of theories I had studied in class. One of these was the idea that learning becomes more effective and meaningful when each concept is connected to real-life experiences. The most impactful takeaway for me was the importance of collaboration among all elements of the school community. This strong coordination not only aims to support the development of students but also fosters the continuous professional growth of teachers. This approach is truly inspiring, as it ensures that teachers' competencies, as well as other aspects of the school, remain consistently aligned with the needs of the students”
“The importance of creating a comfortable learning environment to support students in their studies, along with fostering habits of independent, active, and communicative learning, is something I have observed at Sekolah Global Jaya. Additionally, despite being an international school, Global Jaya does not overlook cultural traditions in Indonesia, such as addressing teachers as "Pak" or "Ibu." This aligns with what I learned in my Philosophy of Education course, which emphasizes incorporating cultural elements into the learning process.”
“Based on this visit, I feel that continuity and habituation are very important for students, especially in activities like the research in the DP program, as well as the practices of writing essays and interviews. These practices will help students become accustomed to such activities at the university. Additionally, I noticed that almost every classroom displays student work, encouraging them to take pride in their achievements. I also observed that student well-being is given significant attention, particularly reflected in the very comfortable classroom settings.”
