Transportation Town in Reception
This term, our Reception students are embarking on an exciting journey into the world of transportation. They shared their personal experiences with various modes of transport they have tried. After that, they brainstormed and creatively designed a new way to travel to school. To deepen their understanding, the students participated in a rotation activity where they explored transportation posters and read books about different types of transportation used in everyday life. They collaborated to create models of various transport options, including buses, aeroplanes, trains, and boats. These models were placed in the shared area and quickly became their favourite spots to play at school.
Math Rotation: Number Bonds
In Math class, the students explored number bonds through a rotation activity. One station featured games on the iPads, while another focused on discovering number bonds with flashcards. The third station invited students to create a story, illustrating the objects and number bonds independently. This hands-on method encouraged the students to engage with mathematical concepts in an enjoyable and interactive manner, deepening their comprehension. As they rotated through each station, they practiced their skills while promoting creativity and collaboration among peers. The diverse range of activities catered to various learning styles, ensuring that math remained accessible and enjoyable for all.
100 Days of School
On Monday, February 3rd, the Reception and Kindergarten students had a fun celebration for the 100 Days of School! They dressed up like they were 100 years old, making the school hallways bright with tiny glasses, grey wigs, and warm cardigans as each child pretended to be an old person. The teachers also got into the spirit by wearing costumes that made them look wise. The students were excited to bring in 100 small items from home, which added to the fun of the day. The celebration ended with group photos showing off everyone's creative outfits. This event was not only an important moment in the school year but also brought joy and creativity to both students and teachers.
