Try imagining the thrill of a field trip to a major art museum. Well, that is exactly what the Year 6 students experienced on the 15th of January at the Macan Museum! The day was filled with excitement as we explored a fascinating art world, capturing some amazing pictures. We dove deep into the rich and varied cultures plus the artists behind each masterpiece. Trust me, it was an adventure like no other!
A spectacular artwork that we witnessed was a wood sculpture of a man impaled by many heart-shaped arrows. The story goes that once upon a time a woman fell in love with a man, but the man was not in love with her. So, one day, the man shot the woman in the heart but before she died on her last breath, she cursed the man to die the same way. So, during a war the man was shot with many arrows by her reincarnated spirit. Ouch!
We came upon a fascinating sculpture - it depicted a woman who was half-decomposed and half-normal at the same time. But even more intriguing, the artist behind this masterpiece is none other than the father of the genius sculptor who created the wood sculpture of a man impaled by many heart-shaped arrows which we mentioned earlier. Talk about art running in the family!
As we stepped into the gallery, our eyes were immediately drawn to the stunning tapestry painting that welcomed us. It was a breathtaking depiction of a forest engulfed in flames, with animals frantically fleeing to safety in a nearby cave. The intricate details and vibrant colors of the artwork made it feel like we were right there in the heart of the action, witnessing the chaos and urgency of the animals' escape. It was truly an exhilarating sight to behold!
The museum was beyond incredible! We had the most amazing experience witnessing the breathtaking creations of the talented artists. We were on an artistic adventure, deciphering the hidden messages behind each masterpiece. While some works revealed their significance immediately, others remained shrouded in mystery, leaving us eager to unravel their secrets. We loved the art we saw and we highly recommend you to visit it too. Trust us Year 6 students…it's worth the visit!
