On Friday, January 26, Year 4 did a collaborative activity with the receptions. The Year 4 students read a book about emotions to their reception buddy. They each have an emotion of their own. The Year 4 asked questions to them about their sentiment and gave advice on what to do when they feel this emotion. Afterward, we asked what color their reception partner thought their particular feeling was. We drew pictures using the color of the emotion we learned about. To end the session, we taught our reception partner a secret handshake.

On Wednesday, January 24th, 2024. The Year 4 students have a rotation activity related to emotion and feeling. The first station was with Ibu Ninggar, where we created the grounding doodling. Grounding is becoming aware of ourselves in the present moment instead of focusing on ourselves in overwhelming emotion. This art activity can be done anywhere and anytime, with any artwork or writing materials. The purpose of this activity is to ground ourselves when feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
The second station was with Ibu Nadya. We understood how music could calm us down with our fingers. Breathing would also help us a lot when we are nervous or sad. During the session,s we needed to write our top 3 things that made us angry and stressed and crumble them to destroy and throw them in the trash bin which made us relieved and proud of ourselves.
The last station was with Ibu Ashley. We learned how to calm down our body's emotions through meditation. Meditation is a mindfulness activity we can do anytime we are nervous and scared. Anytime we felt scared, we could do meditation activities in a comfy spot at home.
We enjoyed the rotation activity and we want to thank our guest speakers for volunteering their time.
